HISTORY
OUR
The vision sparked during a casual golf outing in Las Vegas, where Co-Founder and Chairman Ken Bentley, inspired by the documentary Uneven Fairways: The Story of the Negro Leagues of Golf, questioned why, despite Tiger Woods’ influence, golf remained overwhelmingly white.
Adrian Stills, the last Black player to make it through the PGA Tour’s Qualifying School for 25 years, highlighted the lack of resources—money, mentorship, and opportunities—that kept minority golfers from succeeding at higher levels. Bentley and Stills saw the need for a modern infrastructure to support and elevate minority golfers, much like the United Golf Association (UGA) did during the era of the PGA Tour’s “Caucasian Only” rule. With this vision, they founded the Advocates Pro Golf Association, focusing on providing competitive opportunities for underrepresented golfers.

“We have opportunities to further our careers through good play and influential people who can change the trajectory of our careers. You just don’t get that anywhere else.”
